Arvind Mediratta

METRO Cash & Carry India– As the CEO of METRO, Arvind Mediratta has turned around the fortune of the company, which was consecutively in red since its launch in India in 2003. Within 3 years of joining, Arvind turned METRO profitable for the first time in 15 years in 2018. Since then, he has successfully scaled METRO’s operation to 31 stores in India and establish the company nationally. Mediratta revamped the company’s strategy, focusing on ‘People’ and ‘Purpose’ and changed the company’s expansion model to make it more viable and cost efficient. A lot of innovations were introduced by him in terms of store format, customer engagement, along with digital integration and e-commerce, with the launch of METRO’s B2B ecommerce app. His eye for detail helped METRO pen new growth opportunities in India and has successfully transformed the conventional brick and mortar company to a new age omnichannel player.

Walmart India– As the Chief Operating Officer of Walmart India, he helped set up the company’s cash & carry business from the ground up. Arvind successfully launched 20 wholesale outlets for Walmart India in a record span of five years, clocking over $500 million in sales. He built the Walmart’s Cash and Carry India team and oversaw key functions such as Buying, Merchandising, Operations, Sales, Business Development, Marketing, Logistics, Supply Chain, e-commerce, HR, Finance, etc. He has been recognized globally by Walmart US for being instrumental in setting up and scripting the success story of Walmart’s Cash and Carry business in India.

KFC IndiaMediratta Joined Yum! Brands in 2005 as Chief Marketing Officer for South Asia for Pizza Hut, KFC, Taco Bell and A&W in India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Mauritius. He was instrumental in the successful relaunch of the KFC brand in India.
